India's T20I Squads for India vs West Indies

Ishan Kishan (Wicket-Keeper), Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav (Vice-Captain), Sanju Samson (Wicket-Keeper), Hardik Pandya (Captain), Kuldeep Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik, Avesh Khan, and Mukesh Kumar make up the Indian T20I squad.

The team, which will play five games in the Caribbean and the USA, is captained by Hardik Pandya, and Suryakumar Yadav will serve as his vice captain. However, a few of the other big names are absent. Since India's semi-final exit at the 2022 T20 World Cup, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli haven't played for their country in T20 Internationals.

Due to their outstanding IPL performances, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tilak Varma have been selected for the Indian T20I team. The two quick-scoring left-handers will play against the West Indies starting on August 3. In short-form cricket, it is their first call-up to the senior team.

West Indies Captain "Brathwaite" said, It will all come down to performance.

The WI Test captain says that the other factors for the hosts will be familiarity with the environment at home and mental preparedness.

However, Brathwaite and his group are excited to move ahead and begin the series against India with the new World Test Championship cycle (2023–25). While competing in the World Cup Qualifier, the West Indies ODI team is still in Zimbabwe. Jason Holder and Alzarri Joseph will go early for the Test series. The selectors have not yet released the Test team, but some of the other West Indies players are now participating in a training camp at the Coolidge Cricket Ground to get ready for the Test series.

Starting strong is crucial. The boys are tremendously excited because we're facing India," Brathwaite was quoted as saying by Cricket West Indies (CWI).

"I believe that as a team, as bowlers and batters, we already have those ideas about what to expect, which is why preparation is so crucial.

"It all depends on how you prepare," said one player. "We generally know how the surfaces will play, and we already know the Indian team, so it's important from now to mentally prepare, and understand the plans we want both as a bowling unit and as batters, so you know it will all come down to execution."

West Indies' previous Test series, which they lost 2-0 in South Africa, took place four months ago, and Brathwaite will now play again. The three ODIs and five T20Is will be played in Trinidad after the second Test begins on July 20.

Brathwaite has urged Caribbean cricket supporters to turn out in force and cheer on their team throughout the series against India.

"Dominica will host the first Test match, and we call on the supporters in Dominica to come out and support us, but the guys are really looking forward to the first two Test matches of this cycle," the player stated.

The second Test will mark West Indies and India's 100th meeting in that format.

"That's great, you know, in terms of the 100th Test match against the West Indies, and it's in Trinidad, and you know they love their cricket there, so I think it's important, and we've got to try to make the region proud."
